SORTING/CATCHING
Tinker can travel to your farm with his horses to catch and/or sort cattle. All of his work is done with horses - no 4 wheelers, etc. Tinker's goal is to keep the cattle quiet and moving with ease.
BRANDING
Tinker has been participating in large herd brandings for several years. His knowledge and experience would be valuable to a rancher wanting to brand their own herd. Tinker can bring his horses to your farm and assist you with the branding process.
TRANSPORTATION
Tinker can sort, catch, load, and even haul your cattle for you.
large water crossings, hauling, 2-4 hr trail rides, roping, dragging logs, bridge crossings, overnight camping, etc. Tinker can also help you with a "not so young" problem horse. These horses typically have been misguided in the past and simply need a refresher course. Tinker can target a specific behaviour or performance problem and work with you and your horse to overcome it. Feel free to contact Tinker with any questions you may have. TRAINING
Tinker specializes in starting young horses (at least 2 yrs of age) under saddle. His methods keep the horse quiet, soft & relaxed and deter bad habits from developing. He follows these major guidelines: keep the horse out of trouble, learn what happens just before it happens, support the horse, give him a job to do, and keep the horse trying. Tinker is not a trainer who believes in wearing a horse down and gaining submission through fatigue. Rather, he wants his horses to always try and stay open to learning new things. A tired horse is less likely to learn new things.
Tinker offers training in 30 day intervals. In the first 30 days, Tinker will cover basics such as leading correctly, loading, and trimming and/or shoeing. Once Tinker feels your horse is comfortable with these basics, he will move on to starting the horse under saddle. He works his young horses on being saddled with lead-in-hand, moving off leg pressure, travelling on a loose rein, backing up, loping circles on the correct lead, starting the sidepass, and much more. These are all things you can expect him to start & work on in just the first month.

Horses will advance at difference levels, and Tinker will work with you to help decided what's best for the horse.
When your horse is ready, Tinker can move on to more advance requirements. For example: more work on the sidepass, getting softness in the bridle, riding with other horses, exposure to cattle...

CLINICS
Contact Tinker for your upcoming clinic needs. He can provide a 2 or 3 day clinic focussing on “Colt Starting” , "Horsemanship" or both.
His colt staring clinics focus on the right steps to take when starting a young horse. Tinker can cover a variety of topics. He will show you the techniques he uses everyday to start a horse under saddle. He will even cover basic topics such as teaching a horse to lead, load, & much more!
In the horsemanship clinic, Tinker will teach you the importance of having good horsemanship skills. Horsemanship is crucial to having the best possible ride with your horse. He will teach you how to know where your horses feet are and how that will ease transitions you ask of your horse, such as trot or canter. He will ask you to work on getting your horses soft in the bridle and see how little it takes to get the result you want.
Tinker’s clinics are educational & enjoyable for everyone – from his cowboy poetry to the crack of his bullwhip...you won’t want to miss a minute!
